Info | Hailed as the pioneering force behind the politically engaged "chanson réaliste" revival, Têtes Raides have injected new energy into the French music scene.
Celebrating their twentieth anniversary tour in 2004 more than 250 000 people bought tickets to their shows. In Paris alone they played to 25 000 of their faithful fans. Fusing rock with French chanson, they are renowned for bringing the house down at their gigs. The group have made a major impact on the French music scene thanks to the poetic lyrics and powerful emotional vocals of its lead singer, Christian Olivier.
All multi-instrumentalists, the band’s members create a vibrant, energetic sound which, at times threatens to tip over into wild musical anarchy. Christian's insightful, often surrealist, lyrics claim the moral high-ground but always with tongue-in-cheek, as a perfect counterpoint to the group's galloping music. Innovation is not limited to their songs but also encompasses everything from the design of their album covers to their sophisticated stage presentations which often include elements of circus, dance and theatre.
As Têtes Raides' career has continued to go from strength to strength, they have carved out an important niche for themselves on the French music scene. Their remarkable creativity has impressed both critics and the record-buying public alike, with numerous gold records to their credit.
Released in France in 2003 “Qu’est Ce Qu’on S’fait Chier” confirmed Têtes Raides as one of the most respected bands in their country.
Now this album is due for world-wide release.
Welcome to the phenomenal wacky world of Têtes Raides!
